The rebirth of the Columbia Heights community in northwest Washington has been one of the city's most exciting transformations in recent years. Established more than a century ago as a fashionable Washington neighborhood, Columbia Heights is enjoying a true urban renaissance, with historic and architecturally significant homes and other buildings; excellent public transportation; proximity to a number of cultural institutions and venues for the arts, including the newly restored Tivoli Theater; a brand new gourmet Giant grocery store; and a number of restaurants, shops, galleries, and parks. In addition, the exciting new DC USA retail and entertainment center, to be located adjacent to the Columbia Heights Metro Station, will feature Target, Best Buy, Washington Sports Club, Bed Bath & Beyond, and many other retailers great for shopping, dining, or spending time with friends.
Rock Creek Park — perfect for walking or biking — is just a few blocks to the west. The National Mall and many federal landmarks are all less than three miles away, as are the Smithsonian museums, the Kennedy Center, and the National Theater. Washington's Central Business District is a walk or a bike ride away. The Columbia Heights Metro Station, located just outside Kenyon Square's own front door, brings all of Washington even closer.
